In September 2011, New York artist Molly Crabapple, locked herself in a hotel room, covered the walls in paper, and filled 270 square feet of wall with art. The project, called “Molly Crabapple’s Week in Hell,” is a wild ride through the imagination of an artist stretching herself to the limits of her endurance. The project was 573% funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign which garnered 745 backers. They watched the whole week unfold in live webcasts with the artist, following Molly Crabapple into the madness of art. Now, it’s also a book.

Molly Crabapple is an award winning artist, author, and the founder of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, the largest chain of art salons in the world. More than that, she is a hugely successful entrepreneur. Molly has succeeded in finding ways to fund and create uncompromising, personally fulfilling art and on 29th April at 3pm, in the appropriately named Centre for Creative Practises, Molly will share her thoughts, experiences and ideas on art and entrepreneurship.

Molly’s latest book, Week in Hell, will be available to buy at the talk through SubCity Comics, Dublin. Published by IDW Publishing, the book is a photographic chronicle of the week of madness. From the first stroke of pen upon paper to the glorious 360-degree view of a room full of art, this book chronicles the trials and joys of the Week in Hell, including visits from some of New York City”s artistic luminaries, absinthe parties, live models, and musical accompaniment. The book includes a forward by Transmetropolitan author Warren Ellis.

Week in Hell was released by IDW Publishing on March 26, 2012. It includes photographs by Steve Prue and others, and a cover by fashion photographer Clayton Cubitt.

Molly Crabapple has been called “a downtown phenomenon” by The New York Times and “THE artist of our time” by comedian Margaret Cho. Molly has turned her hyper-detailed Victorian pen to graphic novels, giant nightclub murals, and for clients like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, SXSW, Red Bull and the Wall Street Journal – as well as Occupy Wall Street. Molly is also the founder of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School – an alt.drawing salon with branches in 140 cities from Akron to Zagreb. She has created live art installations at the The Museum of Modern Art and The Brooklyn Museum.

Cyberpunk riot act Angelspit have announced their official 2011 “Let Them Eat Distortion” tour of
Europe. The five-piece act will finish their tour at the Twisted Pepper Dublin. Angelspit co-founder Zoog Von Rock
expresses great enthusiasm regarding the new Angelspit line-up’s upcoming tour. “The reaction to Angelspit with a
band has been phenomenal. We are hyped to brutalise the UK and Europe with our new brand of sonic mayhem!”

The Angelspit lineup consists of Zoog and Destroyx, Valerie Gentile on guitar, Matt James on drums and The Liar on
videography. Drummer Matt James will substitute for regular drummer Chris Kling on this tour,

Voltaire

Voltaire is often described as a modern day renaissance man. He is a singer/ performer, creator of comic books, animation and toys.

As a musician, he is a songwriter whose music can best be described as a collection of murder ballads, tongue-in-cheek exercises in the macabre, with just enough bawdy songs about Star Trek and Star Wars to keep a convention audience rolling in the aisles. Many know him for his songs “Brains!” and “Land of the Dead” from the Cartoon Network show “The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy”.
Voltaire’s live shows, whether solo or with his skeletal orchestra, are full of stories and games. Many describe his shows as sitting around a fire while an old friend regales you with tales, presuming that old friend drinks a liter of rum a night, dates zombie prostitutes and wrestles Krakens.

Voltaire has been recording and touring for over 15 years. He’s released 8 full length CDs, most of them through Projekt Records.
